who are testers for maps and how can i be one. I got disconnected other night because the next map we were playing was for testers only?

i recently downloaded teamspeak succesfully. However i am unfamiliar with how it works. I have a microphone and i have headphones but i dont know how to use program. Could somone give me very specific directions on how to use it. Such as how to connect with it, do i need to open it before i open up game etc. Thanks for any help you can give me

Hello, I am your main man Wang Chung. I'm here to help ya learn about this fine little communications program we call TeamSpeak. Voice chat. Good.

First thing you want to do is set your microphone to Push to Talk, not voice activation. If you don't have a mic just listen in.

Go to Settings > Sound Input/Output settings > Voice Send Method box > Select Push to Talk > Hit SET > press the key you want to use to push and hold to talk (I REALLY reccomend middle mouse button) > hit CLOSE

Test it out and see if we can here you. If not, get your ass on AIM for advanced help immediately (IE mic won't recognize) but here are some quick tips:

Most likely the issue is in windows, NOT TS. So if your mic is quiet, there's little you can do in TS to up it. If you go into Settings > Sound I/O settings, turning up the OUTPUT volume WON'T HELP US HEAR YOU. In fact, if you're already sick of Slaughter laughing like a retard, this will make it worse. I advise you only turn the output volume up if you have a giant bottle of advil or a drill. So dclick the volume icon in bottom right, and go to options > select RECORDING (or mixer device to whatever INPUT is). Make sure "Microphone" is checked off (IN INPUT/RECORDING, NOT THE OUTPUT MENU , YOU WANT IT MUTED TO AVOID FEEDBACK). Then turn the slider all the way up unless you are way too loud.

thanks for taking the time to write that reply however my problem i a having with teamspeak is that i can open up teamspeak and then it says disconneceted on the bottom. how do i connect to a server. Im sorry but your going to have to explain this to me like a 4 year old as i am completly new to teamspeak program thanks again for taking time to reply.

Click the Connection tool bar on the TS window

You will then have a list of boxes. But You'll only have to fill this out once.

Label: CT Pub TS

Server Address: 64.237.62.226:8951

Nickname: (A name that you want to be appeared in TS)

Check the Anonymous if it's not selected.

Click Connect.

Your in the TS now!

Time to Talk.

Once your out, you just press that button you assigned and you can speak. When you let go of it, no one can hear you. So be sure to press it. To know when your talking, just look at the TS. Everytime you press that assigned button, a light pops up. That indicates who is talking at that current time. After a while, you won't need to look at the light b/c you'll recognize us all by our voice.

To switch to other channels, you just double click the channel. This includes anything that has a "BOX" next to it. It's an image of course.

If you ever go AFK for long periods of time, just switch yourself to the AFK channel so there's no one in TS trying to talk to ya, get mad at ya for not being there, and then think differently of you.
