I just got everything for my new computer today...man I was dancing and thinking about how fun it would to be playing again. Then after I put it together the trouble starts.

Info starts displaying on my monitor about missing bios. So im like wtf! Then I get on the laptop and check it out. It seems the bios of my mobo is out of date. So I follow the instructions to update.

I download the driver and try to install it but NO LUCK. Then I call tech support for Asus(btw its the A8V Deluxe mobo). The guy seemed kinda bored but told me to do what I had already done. So I ask him what to do if that doesnt work...He tells me to call this number for the bios department to get new bios. NOONE was there so I go online. Find this guys article on the same problem me and others shared. I tried it his way and now my monitor doesnt even display anything(100% sure monitor works).

So instead of playing this weekend im just mad and have to do all this crap to send it back...lose 15% plus shipping and then buy a new problemless mobo.

On top of that I cant even get aimexpress to work. I was going to bother wang chung and be all emo with my problem.

hmmm

this is what i was concerned about when i was getting parts for my new comp.

when the A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo came out, i was all like, YES the A8N is only $120!!!! (down from the $170 it was 2 days before) but then i got to thinking about the bios and stuff.........then i started thinking that, if i got the A8N, then it would be the newest part of my system. and there bye be current.

but it was also $220!!!!! Confused

) but i came to the point where i realized that "what is the part that you are least likely to upgrade with in the comps life? so i went ahead and bought the A8N.........it worked fine"

sorry to go off on a tangent, but you really made me feel a LOT better about this...........sorry about your comp though...........
