My son - AKA Sharkbite, age 8 - played his F_I_R_S_T game of BFPirates today!

Despite his noobness, teamstackage, and the meat grinder map (Dead Calm) he actually did pretty well:

APM was against him too but quit - bad score or something I guess. Confused

USAF and Nugget joined his enemies in the next round of DC to make Sharkbite's new piratey life even MORE hellified. It brought me tears of joy... Smile

He and I had to go to dinner before he finished gettin properly owned on the second map too. Wink

Nice to see him play Pirates Very Happy

And APM does that all the time, when he has a bad score, he suddenly disconnects and appears 3 minutes later Rolling Eyes

hell, the lil one killed me more than i killed him, all i did was "teach" him not to land in the water... but brutus must have told him about keepin your head down cuz he started doin that after i picked him off a few times... sounds like he was a sport about it too, most 8 year olds would get all mad after dieing so much, he kept runnin back for more....

btw, i smell another comp for pirates at brutus's house soon (my kid is 3 & already has his first comp)

Man when I have a kid (adopted, like me, nubs) i'm gonna be waiting for the first time I meet him and give him a nice PDA just to spite you arses Very Happy

Anyway, Sharkbite is one cool kid. It's great to see games being spread from father to son. Just like Lubber said - CT is keeping people off the streets!

I'm not the first to say that he is EFFING L33T! Just as Supa said I think he owned me more than I owned him. He was pretty sharp with the cutlass... perhaps it's genetic. He died a lot, but for a first time player he was good.

Bring him back so we can teach him some more evil pwnage tricks.

Looks like another CT legacy to join lil' Shoes. My 7 year old has been bugging me forever to let him play. Especially now after we kept riding POTC at Disney.

So soon we'll have most of the old fart children playing BFP? They should go form their own league team, LMAO. Of course, to round it out we'd have to add rally's (great great great x 10) grandkids AND Crunch's little zergling brother.

I hate to sound like some kind of screwed-up father figure, but make sure your kids don't get all involved in it. Especially keep them from going in TS all the time. This is a lesson I learned in my CS days.

My CS clan was run by a guy named Destructo (Doug). He paid for most of the server costs and ran everything. His brother Viking (Scott) helped him out a lot. Needless to say they are both really cool guys and I still talk to them when I can. Doug had twin girls, but Scott had a kid named Joe. Joe played under the name Revan, which he got from playing Jedi Knight. When he started playing CS with us, he would always act like a total punk when his dad wasn't around. Keep in mind, he was only thirteen, but i dunno wtf his issue was, maybe he was trying to act older or just wanted to be tough. Whatever the case was, frustration through gaming and taking jokes WAAAYYYYYYYY TOOOOOOOO SERIOUSLY led him to some anger management problems really quickly. Some broken monitors and lots of yelling in Scott's house got him semi-perma-grounded from the comp. He was a cool kid but got too rowdy at times.

Just a word of caution. Note that I do hate censorship, but be careful with little kids.

Only nubs like you need target practice. Of course, a sprite target is always nice. I sometimes forget that your brain is in your ass.

he was just defending an insult tossed at him. seems like a lot of those get tossed at him around here.

to keep it on topic, that's cool that he plays pirates. my 9 year old sister likes to play UT99 (old school unreal tournament) but she's not all that good, an 8 year old holding his own in BFP is a cool thing to see. especially in a spawn-killer's paradise like shark haven.
