Dell is the one PC that I've had the least amount of trouble with. Actually none until my ME crapped out recently but that has nothing to do with the computer.

Gotta agree with the last two posts and posters, BUT i will admit that has changed a lot.

All of the Dells I have worked on in the shop have had HDD issues - IE MBR crapping out, HD totally dies, allocation tables shit up, lots of shit.

Agreed, and it is easy to build one don't give up so easily, Royal. I guess you were expecting to just slap it together and it would work? No, but it won't take much to get it that way.

1) look at cord

2) associate prongs to shapes learned in elementary school

3) scratch bottom

4) Gave dunfoundely around room and look for the spot where the sheetrock turns into plastic

5) stare at this plastic thing

6) get plug(move comp if necessary)

7) look at metal rectangles

Cool

look at rectangular holes in plastic thing

9) match up the two up

10) make sure you make the circle match up also

11) push slowly into plastic thing

12) hang yourself

alright, heres the situation:
i've returned everything except for the x2 512mb DDR400 3200 ram chips and the XFX geforce 6200 PCI-E graphics card.

What I want to do is get a relatively cheap system (I don't need the monitor or mouse or any external devices, Those I have already.) and then add the above parts into it.

I need a computer that has X2 DDR400 3200 RAM slots and at least one PCI-E slot. beyond that, Be as cheap as possible.

Edit: on second thought... might want to go with the area 51 3500. again, unless you can find somthing thats the same but cheaper, thats what I'll go with.

Finding something cheap with a PCI-E ready motherboard prolly aint gonna be easy.

I wouldn't throw staplers at Dell's either. They have won every customer service and satisfaction poll I've seen for the last several years. Maybe not this year though - haven't checked in the last few months but I can't imagine its changed...
