Beowulf and I are actually messing around with a Ninjas versus Pirates mod for BF1942 right now. It will be slow in development, though, because neither one of us has ever modded before.

I like the idea of a gang war mod, where the vehicles are cars and the people are gang bangers and they're having a gang war in the streets and such.

nony has the best idea - if it's not do-able, my vote goes for civil war. The only drawback there is that you have to do horses - maybe someone's already done a horse you could nick tho Wink

Yeah the horses are really tough. I saw the first good horse in a game called "Gun" - so it is possible, just a lot of work. I think horses have held back a lot of good historical-type games...

Or, I'd even go with a civil war mod without horses (maybe add them later) but there's plenty of other vehicles, boats, ships, even Merrimack and Monitor, trains, cannon, and um, er, ahem, balloons Laughing

I would have to say that the Civil War mod has been one of my favorite ideas. Plenty of research material on hand, etc... I would like to do realistic maps/battles too. I also think vehicles and explosions add a lot to the gameplay.

However it would be extremely HARD to do and BIG, I think there should be a Collision mod.

This mod would give you all the aspects of modding in every form. Each map would be entirely different than the others. Why? B/c each maps is like a coding in itself. One map can be cowboys, another can be ninjas. If there was an easy way to extract all files into a single map and just for that map only, then it'd be awesome. One day your fighting as a alien and in the next map your a samurai.

It's nice to have a big imagination sometimes, but from looking at it, it would deem to be impractical.

Though, I'd go for the Civil war mod. And lotz o' buildings to hide in to where they ain't close off like that other Civil war mod. :/

What was that Halo mod for BF? I remember that one and it was like AWESOME, but they did a horrible job at making it. That turned out a lot better than I thought it would.
