Windows 7 pisses me off

Yet another fatal crash this week. The System Restore point that it assured me that it had made, was never made, so I had to do a fresh install. Is anyone else having their whole OS tank on them every few months for no reason at all? I'm using a solid-state boot drive, so it can't be blamed on the HD.

I've been having trouble where the system just randomly freezes and I need to restart. Sometimes it happens multiple times after restarts and sometimes it just pops up every few weeks.

7 with the UAC off is not bad. Haven't had troubles yet (knock's on head), although I still game exclusively on XPP.

I actually had a BSOD today, or at least sometime between 2am and 11am. And I had another a week or so ago....never I had them before and the two were from totally unrelated causes. I wonder if some update fucked something obscure up.

Also, wireless networking and my mouse driver have seemed hit-or-miss since switching to 7, and the new WMP sucks and doesn't show album art bigger than a tiny square, and tray icons show the wrong status a lot (like the battery/power indicator not showing the right thing or the network icon saying I'm offline when I'm not).

Ventrilo does not work with Windows 7!

It'll run for a while and then stop receiving and transmitting. There is currently not a fix for that bug either, so don't expect me on vent for a BFP match anytime soon.
I like W7 overall, but there are enough small failures to ruin the experience at times.

W7 Pro has worked beautifully for me since I got it through my Uni a few months ago. Vent apparently not working sucks though.

Vent works fine for me on Win7, as does Teamspeak and Skype.

I did have a prob getting Vent to work as it conflicted with a game i was using. Make sure it isnt the game causing the issue.

Well, I've now figured out that it's not Windows at all that's caused my problems for the last year and a half. It's my goddamn Asus motherboard that doesn't work right and crashes my OS whenever the fuck it pleases, including during start-up. The best part is that this Asus motherboard was a replacement for a different model of Asus motherboard that did the same fucking thing. After two years and $200, I still haven't solved my problems because I've trusted this hack company too much. I will never, NEVER buy from those cocksuckers ever again. Be warned. I cannot emphasize enough what a mistake it is to buy that company. Spread the word. Asus is a lemon factory.

I'm still having trouble with my machine even after the BIOS update that's supposed to keep my system from forgetting where my D drive is. If anyone here runs an AM3 socket chip, especially if its the AMD 965 Black Edition specifically, please tell me what board you use. I'm going to replace this thing and want this trouble over with.
