It's amazing that we've never (that I remember) had any kind of discourse about what bands we're all into. As many of you know, I'm huge into Soundgarden, as they're my favorite band. I love that grunge/alternative sound in general and I have most of the major albums from that era. What musical act and style does it for you guys?

I'm into Eddy Vedder, Kings of Leon, and pretty much like most people with the throat cancer sound.

I like pretty much any genre of music, but most recently I've been blasting trance music in my apartment. Favorite trance artist is Above and Beyond (also known as Oceanlab)

My top 10 albums of all time (I'll keep it to one band entry only, otherwise it would be all Iron Maiden.):

1. Tie: Powerslave by Iron Maiden and Number of The Beast by Iron Maiden
2. Heaven & Hell by Black Sabbath
3. Holy Diver by Dio
4. The Devil You know by Heaven and Hell (I'm cheating here, but hey different band names.)
6. Ride The Lightning by Metallica
7. Twilight of The Thunder God by Amon Amarth
8. Imagine by Armin Van Buren
9. Clayman by In Flames
10. Mezmerize by System of a Down

So yeah, I primarily listen to Melodic Death Metal and Classic Metal/Power Metal. I like a bit of techno/trance here and there. Which also happens to be what I primarily listen to lately. I hate Metal these days. as it is all screaming about how much you hate someone.

Honorable Mentions:
Vulgar Displays of Power-Pantera
Rust In Peace- Megadeth
Reign In Blood- Slayer

I've listened to them a bit, I like a lot of it. You excited that they got back together last year?

I mostly listen to metal, but none of the mainstream crap you hear on the radio. Oh and also Pink Floyd, because that shit is awesome.

EDIT:
Nice list sleeples, especially with the stuff Dio did. I was so sad to hear about his passing last year Sad

I consider Holy Diver being above Ride the Lightning to be offensive. Also I like most types of music (currently very into hip hop) and have favorite bands from all of them. Among them: Iron Maiden, Metallica, POS, Atmosphere, Murs, Tupac, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Pink Floyd, the Grateful Dead... I could go on

lol Fred I laughed at GWAR being on your list, like your style.

sleep=great list

docs=trance for life

Pink Floyd is my reigning champion, I have a $1000+ pink floyd tat so that goes without saying

Anything from Children of Bodom to Cypress Hill and everything in between.

Nooooo pop. Pop music could take a revolver to the head for all I care, same goes to you emo music

Personally I'm just gunna go ahead and say alternative and progressive rock are the best genres known to man

First I was a metal lad, then I transitioned to a pop punk fellow, and now I rest comfortably as a somewhat token hipster.

Favorite bands are probably:
Bright Eyes (legacy from my teenage years, I masturbate with my tears)
Los Campesinos!
Okkervil River
Cloud Cult
The Mountain Goats
Bomb The Music Industry
Fucked Up
The National

Honestly, I could list bands for hours. I enjoy me some music.

Comradekil:  so anyway, i wonder how everyone's lives all progressed.. who's in jail? who's grandparents now.. ha life
Drunken Monkey:  and yes....i do miss 1942 aswell, i honestly think it is what drove me to get a M1 garand in real live, and is still my most used rifle
Drunken Monkey:  bots are getting silly
Comradekil:  Sup dudes
Messy Recipe:  the BAR-1918 always felt so good in that game
Messy Recipe:  I miss vanilla 1942 as much as Pirates... need to see if the Origin version (or even original) still has anyone playing sometime
