That's good. I hated that about LoL. Players shouldn't have a drastic advantage just because they played longer than you. Skill should be determined by actual strategy and not length of playtime. Seems like a cool game.

Gameplay wise everything is generally the same(keep in mind last time I played DotA was 4 years ago) However with games such as HoN, and LoL picking up and surpassing the title of DotA clone by adding new gameplay mechanics. Think of it like this:

Megaman 1-8 are great games but fairly straightforward. By the 8th game people got very tired of it. So here comes megaman X which introduced dash and wall jumping. Suddenly they can get away with more games because the games feel like a completely different game.

DotA does not introduce any new gameplay mechanics which to me, holds it back. At the moment, to me, the difference between DotA and LoL is that:
DotA has a better community, nostalgia factor, and its new. Unless some new changes come it dethroning the beast that is LoL seems slim.

Of course I could be talking completely out of my ass, but these are just my first impressions of it and i look forward to playing more of it once finals are done.

DotA does not have a better community, none of them will ever have a good community, lets just get that stright. I was an old DotA player for two or three years and I must say DotA 2 made slight tweaks to some abilities and such but they were nothing that changed the hero majorly, mostly just number reworks.

Nostalgia is a big part of the game but it didn't really sell it for me to be quite honest.. I mean if you absolutely loved DotA and want to see pretty much the HD version of it, I say go for it because there's nothing wrong with that.

But i'll stick to LoL. Besides not ALL of the new models are great... Storm Spirit.. WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOU!?!

Better then HoN and DotA 2 in my opinion, and atleast HoN has some new ideas to it.. So does LoL. It'd be very boring for me to go back to that old batch of heroes, the only one that attracts me again is Puck. God I love Puck.

The matchmaking system didn't pair you against people who were drastically above your level, only those about two to three levels away so you'd fight people in the same state as you since you CANNOT buy runes with Riot Piots (Real money), and Mastries you have the earn, cannot buy in anyway. You could argue that about premades but it shifts in favor of how many high vs low. I don't know if any of you remember but there was a shit ton of premades in DotA, hell.. When the bot takeover occured, all the admins if you'd call them that.. checked W/L ratios to shift every high W/L ratio player to their team so they could win easily.

You could also say that it'd be easy to smurf but that's somthing that just happens in pretty much any game that tries to balance gameplay between levels of some sort, an example would be World Of Warcraft and it's many Enchanted Heirloom PVPers around at level eighteen or so slaughtering everyone.

Also just because you have runes and masteries dosn't mean you auto win versus someone who has lesser of the two, not in the slightest. You might have an advantage but it can be easily lost.
