A geology class trip during the week my college has spring break.

Should be quite fun.

I've thought about studying geology because of the awesome field trips.

You doing any hiking? Take a Camelback water system if so...It'll be hot the further down you go.

A Camelback is nice, but a bit pricey if this is going to be a one-time trip. You should have at least one extra gallon of water in your backpack. Drink in moderation but frequently (a few sips every ten minutes or so). If I learned something in the army, it's that you shouldn't mess with extreme weathers. The more water, the better. Simply because there are always other people who forget to pack extra.

EDIT: WTF is up with this motherfucking forum? Laughing A camelback

Carried 4 liters of water (~1 gallon) while hiking.

And honestly, couldn't have asked for better weather as it was clear in both parks. Though it was slightly overcast as I was hiking up the hermit trail which was nice.
