DVDFab, you can find a free copy via torrent if so inclined. It even plays a cool reggae tune when ripping is complete

Try AutoGK or SmartRipper. It's been awhile since I've done this so I don't remember what the differences are, but I think AutoGK works better on protected DVDs, and I know I used SmartRipper to pick and choose a certain selection of scenes from Back to the Future III to rip.
