HOLY SHIT

I never really get excited about pushing a game...BUT THIS IS INSANE!

You gotta get BFBC2 if for no other reason than the Vietnam exp! It will blow your mind. (Like BFBC2 everything in the game blows up or gets damaged (except patio furniture, that shit is indestructible but flies around)) - it's so realistic and is what I've been waiting for since being teased by the BF42 Eve of Destruction mod.

Go get it now on Steam or whatever.

I'm sorry guys, but I bought and played the game for the first time tonight and didn't enjoy a minute of it. It's BF2 with more sniper problems. As if tanks weren't enough of a concern for infantry.

You must give it a chance. Yes, snipers can piss you off (in any game,really and for sure in real life - they suck)
but you have to learn how to deal with em. Smoke nades are a good option, spotting them, and then flanking em and slitting their throats....ahhh sweet revenge. Once you get good at anti-sniper tactics - they tend to switch to other classes. Getting all the weapons upgrades helps, and being on a good team/squad is really a big difference.

If there are tons of snipers, switch to another server.

I love the challenge of taking out tanks - it's just like real life, they are a bitch for infantry. On small armor maps I usually play engineer with double mines, then deploy them in pairs near each other. If they hit one, the other is triggered and it's a 1 shot kill. You can also get the tracer dart gun and then use 1 of the 2 homing anti tank rockets...others on your team will also target them.

Takes a while to get all the awards and weapons, so in the meantime, learn all 4 classes.

To be fair, I've finally unlocked the items necessary to actually be a medic in more than name only (what the hell is up with that?), so the game is now starting to play much better. My dream of being a medic with a shotgun is now realized, but I do find that there are certain maps that I just hate with a passion and will not play, Heavy Metal being the chief offender. Larger games tend to gank you more often as well, so I find that 16 man Oasis is where it's at. You guys can find me as "Vlad Piranha" if interested. BYOG, I'll bring the morphine. Pants optional.

It's the new trend of unlockables. I made a rant about it some time ago because I think it's total BS to handicap new players like that or hide in in-game content behind some kind of to do list(achievements). I have seen it become more and more used and now it's even implemented to RTS games, which totally takes any kind of competivines out of them.
