Not a new gaming rig, but it should work fine for online classes, word processing, browsing the internets, etc. Seems like a pretty good price too - but I havent shopped older PCs. But $150 for web portal seems like a small price for the benefit (in general).

First thought was, "If you put an Athlon X2 in there and 2 gb of DDR2, it'd be pretty solid." Second thought is that it takes DDR, which will be pricier to upgrade (though older) and I'm not sure whether or not it can take an Athlon X2. It'd also be nice to have room for another internal HDD, which isn't the case. Single core and 512 mb RAM will still surf the web, but any dual core and 1gb would be a big improvement. 40 GB HDD should be fine for online classes. Might be worth a laugh to try and price an X2 machine with DDR2 and a cheap case. I think things like an HDD, DVD, mouse/kb would add up to more than this pretty quick though.

if that link actually works (i always have reatrded probs sharing wish lists), youll see that for under $350 you can get a reasonably modern computer with name brand parts & a cheapo lcd monitor

if the goal is to get it for as little money as possible, then what you posted should do the job well enough
