I turn on the closed captions to things that are English based. So I don't mind subtitles. I do it because your ears doesn't always hear everything that goes on in the show. You can pick up some really subtle things that are typically hilarious.

The original audio is the way the director wanted it to be. And saying that subtitles suck because they change too fast is like saying that 10 finger system sucks because it's too hard to master.

Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, and Death Note all have really good dubs. Well, the English one, at least. Really, it all depends on which version you see first. English Spike > Japanese Spike, IMO, and sometimes English just fits the feel of the show better.

Now, watching the Simpsons in Spanish, THAT'S yucky.
