gg pc guy Rolling Eyes

with 20+ years in IT, google is the first place I look for weird shit.
It's like WebMD for your PC and there are millions of techs and users out there posting what they've run into....it's rare indeed when you have a unique problem that you can't even find on the net w/Google. And even then it's a better chance that you're using the wrong word(s) to search than it actually being unique...(i.e. flashing instead of flickering)

Google is also the tool I used - I search stuff like window jumping, etc - probably about five various terms and none of them hit anything. Glad to hear she got it fixed Smile

I managed to find some obscure problem on Google, dunno what words I'd even have used for it -- but every often when doing certain things in my dad's PC, Adobe Acrobat would pop up saying something about installing or whatnot. Turns out the issue is caused by certain incorrect permissions on certain user folders, fixable by usage of CACLS command. No idea how it'd get like that through normal usage though.

Oh & it really blows when you find something that looks like it's the solution you need, but it's deep in some forum's archives and the only reply is telling the person to use search because it already exists (though no longer does now when you're looking for it).

Ya that sux - been there too. But usually, changing the search words (even used a thesaurus) generates new results.
