At least when Obama speaks, you don't cringe for what he's about to say next. W/ Bush, that's how I was w/ him there toward the end. Obama can make a speech and sound intelligent doing it (although the whole flubbing the oath thing was there, but that's only because the Chief Justice screwed it up first). _________________ -=|CT|=- K9 Carlos

Wasn't that a little quirky? I'm sure the whole "I'm a G.W. boy and you voted against my confirmation" thing was in play.
Then the last line:
"So help YOU God?" instead of saying the normal "So help me God" and then the person repeats it.
I guess ministers should say "You, Jack, take her, Jill, to be your wife" as well. _________________

I forget what station I was watching it on but they mentioned that fact also (think it was CNN).
I was laughing today about the big deal they were making about him re-taking the oath last night and how they were all pissed that video wasn't allowed. Who cares. He was actually President before he took the 1st oath anyway. By the constitution, his term started at noon, regardless of whether or not the oath was administered. _________________ -=|CT|=- K9 Carlos

I actually read that Chief Justice John Roberts & Obama had a re-swearing-in the day after.
You know, just to make sure he was our president.

I agree with Obama being a good orator, but after you take away the buzzwords, dramatic pauses, and recitations of historical facts, there's not many promises he leaves us with and even less descriptions of how he's going to solve any of the current struggles America faces. Just 'change.'
Weee.

The nightmare here in Minnesota still isn't over. Just for shits and giggles, go check on the Coleman/Franken situation. If you want to see political machines at their best/worst, there you go.
A few ways to settle this quickly and save the taxpayers some money:
1. Rap for it.
2. Rock Band 2 showdown
3. Street Fighter II (This could also settle the Ryu/Ken debate once and for all.)
4. Spelling Bee
5. Film Trivia: Batman Edition
6. Costume contest
7. Twister
8. Pistols at dawn (I'm all for someone blowing the other guy's brains out at this point. I don't really care who.)

The sad thing is that we still have a better track record than Illinois.
