Yo, I figured it out. Was a piggy, but made total sense afterwards.

You MUST draw the maps IN BC, so i looked in BC folder for the terrain textures. Voila. duh...

For each of the texture types (e.g., wet grass or rock texture), there is a corresponding DDS file, and variables for snowy, desert, default terrain packs.

If you hijack snowy (make a backup) and put your custom textures in there, then you should be able to customize your terrain textures ALL day. and it'll be way easy - no unpacking required. Very Happy

While we're talking about textures -- why don't you tell us how you made Marooned look so good? I suck at using the BC42 texturer, though Photoshopped ones are prolly better by far anyway.

i used BC paint tools Smile no secret... I just painted with bold colors over the default textures.

Just have to be careful as its a fine line between rich and garish. took some experimenting. Azure Seas and marooned let me practice a lot.

Yep Smile Pretty-looking custom textures on barnacle bay. I took the sand and made it a tad brighter, then hued it blue for the other sand texture to put under shallow water - looks very beachy.

Awesome! I was 95% confident it would work. But giving advice based on assumption bugs at me. I never tested it (maybe there was size requirements or some other pointer file etc) and I knew you had an issue initially. But joo got it. Nice. Very Happy
