The lightning effects in Scurvy Cove and Bloody Bayou are formed by a web of object spawners up in the sky. The object spawned is static and immediately explodes -- essentially, an invisible ammo keg that spawns already on fire. The explosion effect for this is a massive 2D flash of light and a thunder effect.

If you wish to place single lightning spawners at any place in the map, place the object LightningFXWebSpawner. However, because BF1942 effects are 2D, you will not see a lone lightning effect if you are not facing it. Also, it will not cover everything with light, because some things will be in front of it and block view of it. Thus, I also created a web of these spawners to place and fill the map with lightning when looking in any direction except straight down. You'll notice on Scurvy Cove that you see the lightning when looking in any direction, and in fact it's usually several overlapping 2D effects, lighting up the ground at your feet all the way back to distance objects.

To add a web of lightning spawners to your map, place the LightningWeb1024 or LightningWeb2048 object in the center of your map, some distance up in the sky.
