any tips as to how to get a good modern gaming computer running XP, XP Pro, and or XP 64 bit to run games from......say the days of DOS and windows 95?????

wile i am on the same topic, any one have any of the mechworrior games (the only one i have is Mechworrior 2, and still miss playing it to this day) that are willing to either sell the game itself, or a working copy?

(all i can play of Mechworior 2 right now is the songs on the CD through real player.....does not even work when i save the songs to my HDD either lol)

other old games that i would like to play again are, the rise and rule of ancient empires, Conqueror 1086 AD (one of the best games of the mid 90s in my opinion. really reminds me of the total war series as to the shier verity of options and combat. some of it is FP style, other bits of it are strategy, yet others are town, forest, and castle development, then you have the campaign map Razz ) (DOS) and ultimit domain (DOS)

have not tryed Furry 3 since that time.....not sure if it works yet or not.

There's a progam called DOSBox that runs old games but I haven't a clue how to use it, maybe Google can help you there.

I once found a program that could fix the sound issues that running DOS games in the XP console had. Unfortunately, it's been quite a while, and I don't remember the name of it. It did work pretty well, though, so there is hope.

You could always create a Virtual Machine to run DOS, if you can get access to the DOS installer files. That worked pretty well for me.

[BB]Piccolo:  I'm amazed I actually still knew my login. We Black Buccaneers certainly had a special relationship with you Cut Throats. Nothing like a fierce rivalry to make the battlefield exciting, eh? :)
