Nah, Vista actually works, it just doesn't work the way you'd want it to.

What I actually meant with Windows ME was the whole "abandon the OS" idea.

And that's probably the problem I have with Vista. There's no "major problems." But it's the minor things that should work that are the bigger of the problems.

I know they won't get every single bug fixed on a very early release, but it seems to me that they didn't really try. Seven years working on it and there's reported problems with the GUI system? That's visual man. How do you miss something like that?

I guess it's little things like that that bother me. But it's not just Vista's fault. I do it will any new products. I didn't buy one of the first generations of iPod, Xbox, Wii etc for the same reasons above.

it just boils down to who actually has their shit together & who doesnt try to pack 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound shit recepticle

Aye! Microsoft OS is up to 20 pounds at last test. Wink

Specifically, on Stealth's GUI observation, they are supporting a MAJOR shift in GUI technology/hardware with DirectX10 while simultaneously (and automatically) supporting previous GUI technologies as well. That's hard, like maybe 18 of the 20 new pounds. Razz If it wasn't for new hardware capabilities and more gamer needs we wouldn't need DirectX10 or a new OS. I don't think they were planning on DirectX10 when they started Longhorn. DirectX10 is VERY new, but too powerful to ignore in a new OS.

Don't get me wrong though, fuck Microsoft. Very Happy

well, all of my hardware will support DX10. as for the XP hack, let me know when they have a stable version of it. as for vista, it may be a good OS for me some day, but not today. + i can all ways install it later.
