Take-Two is reducing its fiscal 2007 guidance primarily to reflect the movement of the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV for the PLAYSTATION�3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360� video game and entertainment system from the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007 to fiscal 2008, due to additional development time required to complete the title. The title is now planned for release in the Company's second quarter of fiscal 2008. Additionally, Take-Two is updating third quarter and fiscal year 2007 guidance to reflect the movement of Manhunt 2 for the PlayStation�2 computer entertainment system, PSP� (PlayStation�Portable) system and the Wii� out of the third quarter and the fiscal year.

I don't really find the GTA series that entertaining. But I do like shooting and beating up random people walking the streets.

Oh and Cops at 5-6 stars.

Eh? As I know GTA IV is not a FPS and other genres get delayed too.

ok ok beeotch, a shooter! I know some nerd was gonna say but but but GTA is a third-person shooter, which is usually true. Yes you are the guru of video games... Rolling Eyes

Last year was particularly lame for FPS games, yes FPS. I just combined the misery.

If you haven't played a GTA recently you should try San Andreas.

I usually play SA every day. The GTA series has, in my mind, always been pretty well polished. So if Rockstar/Take Two/Whatever the hell is going to take some time to make sure the product comes out sharp, and not some shitstain release like Battlefield 2 and other games, then that's fine with me.

I'm a big fan of the rumor that nobody knows how the fuck to code on a PS3 and Sony has a contract that requires simultaneous release or Sony sodomizes everyone at Rockstar with a rabid woverine on PCP.

Although with the year Rockstar is having (e.g. Manhunt 2), actually selling some games in the immediate future is probably making the wolverines seem like a reasonable trade-off.

missions are alright...

my best times are running around the bicylce off mountains.. and surviving.

I think all of the above are plausible, and the combined outcome is more than sufficient of a reason to delay release. Releasing at the same time as Halo 3 isn't the best idea, so Bender has a good point. But it also means more time to polish up and make things better. On the other hand, you raise a very excellent point and you are probably correct in stating that coding on PS3 is very difficult. I read a rant by Gabe Newell a while back about how the PS3 blew monkey balls because the architecture of the cell processor was very powerful but limited because it required major fundamental coding revamps, which is fucking uncalled for.

My best times in GTA:SA are running from the Po Po on a bike. That way I can pedal away just as fast, and hop over walls and watch them slam into stuff. It might just be me, but does it seem like SA has fewer ramps than Vice City did?
