I hated the fact that it takes forever to swing your sword.

I hope Mist's Melee isn't like that. I would probably never play it.

what class are you using, pirates swing their sword just as quick as bfp plus you can hold it back and swing whenever is opportune. Maybe you are referring to striking someone that is parrying. If you do this you get stunned, and cannot move quickly no matter what you want to do. I also imagine the longsword takes awhile to strike, but seeing as I am a pirate at heart I have played no other classes.

Pirate at heart.

The step swing is what makes it appear slower. You could be very close up to them and swing and, it won't hit them. Then it does take longer to swing for the second time. And no, I'm not being stunned.

That "stun" crap just irritates me as well. Why can't it just be a parry and we can both keep fighting? Why a parry and omg, I have to hold my sword back for 3 seconds?

That's just retarded.

I think the mod has a lot of balance issues, it could also use a little game play tweaks with weapon speeds etc., but it is off to a good start IMO. Like taw said, there isn't much more then spamming left click and the occasional parry. Some combos would make the game play excellent. The powder keg is lame as hell and the crossbow takes more time to reload than what is practical. I think the knights could use more longer/wider shields, so that people could use them to block projectiles better. The pirates also seem a little underarmed, maybe they should be given the best combos if they do include them? We'll have to wait and see for this mod.

If it weren't for the stun, nobody could win a melee fight against a viking.

Boom- I think the pirates are one of the more overarmed classes just because of the powder keg alone. IMO, the other teams should get a sprint button to avoid that keg, or there should be a smaller blast radius.

I think a smaller radius or complete removal would then make the pirates underarmed. There are going to be more classes, though, so that might balance things out.

Yea, this page shows what classes they have so far, the ones they're working on next and the ones they plan to add after that for a total of 18 classes.

I really like how they're only adding in a few classes at a time. It allows the players to slowly adjust and allows them the chance to get feedback and tinker with balancing.

I'm getting it now guys, and may I sugeest one small thing;

How about we use CT tags when playing this and CSS seeing as we intend to play on the HL2 engine anyway.

I am going to anyway guys.

Cool, I am already using them for this, but will also do so for CSS and Msit.

I love this game, I play as a viking mostly. Sorry guys but there is something about a big friggin axe chopping up those nimbly little pirates. Haven't tried as a knight yet.
