I've gone through a few ipods myself. My mini was good for about 8 months, and then it went to shit and just recently started working again, but I can still only use about 2 of the 4gb. My nano, which has been dubbed toiletbowl fell out of my hoody pocket one night in a rum induced haze and landed stright in a toilet. Amazingly it still works, but my screen is dead lights up but the display is shot.

You My sir, have no idea what quality is, an iPod only costs Apple $75,- (yes your reading it right, seventyfive bucks) too produce, so the rest of the $250,- is all Brand payment. Also the sound quality of an iPod is one of the worst i've heard out there(yes I used the same headset for every tested player) and it was only succeeded by some of those brandless el-cheapo players.
Furthermore Apple tends too use his own fileformat which isn't combatible with the average PC.

So all in all, the iPod is a mere commercial product and should not be bought by any self thinking humanoid.

and for the bashers here, yes I have a Creative Zen Jukebox which I have for 4 years, with NO problems what so ever.

First of all, way to turn a help thread into a bashing thread. "You My sir, have no idea what quality is", could easily be said right back to yourself. You will be paying the SAME exact price for a nice mp3 player no matter what brand it is. Don't know about the rest of you, but I don't waste my money on unknown brands. I would rather pay a little more than the 'el-cheapo' brands for a name brand I trust. Apple does NOT use their own format, it would be completely stupid to do that. Mp4's are part of the mp3 family, made by the same people. And YES, they are compatible with ANY PC with iTunes, and I'm sure there are even plugins available for other players as well. Do a little research before you start throwing out unsupported claims.

hehehe,
Wether you like it or not I-Pod kicked creatives pathetic little ass when it came to mp3 players. Creative had their thumb on the maket from the very first mp3 players. I have one of the first nomad jukebox's and it's as big as 2 cd players stacked on top of each other. The thing was a piece of shit, the rechargeable batteries lasted 2 hours tops, and it took almost a day to recharge them. Given I had one when the technology was still in it's expirimentation, and wasn't fully developed.

Yet that being said, how can apple come out with an mp3 player YEARS after creative had released theirs, and totally dominated creative. Not only did they stick a boot up creatives ass, they revolutionized the concept of the mp3 player and made it so pop culture that it made your cd player look like an 8-track.

So honestly please explain to me why creative's nomad jukebox is nearly unheard of and i-pod is a household name?

- Something better than this perhaps: People are just a bunch of blind sheep, and I hate i-pod because it molested me as a child.
Because maybe it's just me, but right now I think that's all you got.

That's really all the proof I need to say mines better than yours. 9/10 households agree, your wrong. So, Thank You Come again [/quickie mart voice]

~ I love a good arguement ^_^

PS: I am not your sir, you can call me daddy, but that's about it.

Good point. I have no idea what that was until this thread came up xD I knew creative made mp3 players, but I had no idea about the names of their products.

Creatives are great.

I use myself iRiver U10 (aka clix). Costs as much as Nano does, but has good video player, radio, blah blah and better sound quality.

BAM

i had to emphasize that post because as an iPod owner that little remark on the self thinking humanoid offended me
