Video problems

whee got ma sexy new graphics card but for some reason when i try playing a video(through wmp at least) my comp. slows to a snails pace and the screen starts flickering and i have to restart. and yes i updated my drivers so any ideas?

I believe that's still in Beta. It may be worth downgrading to version 9 to see if you still have issues.

Actually, I looked into if more and its version 11 thats in beta right now. You may have lost codec somewhere somehow, so perhaps a reinstall of 10 or it may be wothe trying the version 11 beta. Also, make sure that with your vid card driver it doesn't have any special video enhancements going on that some of you other hardware may not support. Also, you may want to tinker with your hardware acceleration levels (full usually works best).

Hardware Acceleration settings are likely where it's at.

Don't change WMP, please, for the love of god. WMP10 is the version you want.

Make sure you erased your old drivers as well, and updated DirectX.

k, hows about this one? when I try watching embedded windows media player videos in a website (the adultswim fix, to be exact), it plays for a bit, then "Opera Internet Browser has encountered a problem and needs to close", IE and FF do the same thing, I tried updating WMP and system restoring, too, and it didn't work Sad
