Okay my sound system is a Klipsch GMX A2.1:

The right speaker seems to have some slight issue, like it's more sensitive or something. If sound is playing and I put the volume to the very lowest that it is still audible, the right speaker plays louder. Switching the balance to the right at this level makes the sound louder; balancing to the left turns it off - the left speaker seems to be less powerful than the right one.

Also when I change the volume, the right speaker makes a slight fizzling noise even when no sound is playing, and a very loud one if there is noise - the left doesn't do this. So I think it's a problem with the right one, as I doubt it's supposed to make static from simply changing volume.

pick yourself up a can of tuner cleaner at Radio Shack and spray that stuff up in the volume and fader/balance knobs and work them back and forth, that oughtta fix you up.

If that doesn't work, make sure that your souncard software isn't set screwy and just assumed it's own settings

That's probably it - and the correct solution. But once I found one of my speakers had a wire that had been yanked - was doing the exact same thing - i just soldered it up and was done with it.

Re-plug ALL of the connections. Stereo jacks can be pretty shitty at times. Sometimes if you twist a stereo jack a certain way or tug on it somewhow, you can create static and sound imbalances. I would reccomend you make sure they are all in properly before you go out and buy tuner spray Razz

I think I've found out where the problem is coming from:

I can make the right speaker buzz constantly and loudly by unplugging the line-in cord, between the volume control and the computer, from the volume control and then sticking it back in and holding it halfway. So I used this to test the speaker as I fiddled with connections.

I went to the connections with the polarity and red/black connections and whatnot (impedance I think it's called) and switched the wires for the left and right speakers. This caused the problem to occur in the left speaker. So it seems to be a problem with the outlet intended for the right speaker.

Edit: It may not be that ^, as the same problem happens if I plug in headphones, to the right earpiece.
