Bf1942 prob

Hello. I have been having a problem with BF1942. I put in the disk and the small screen comes up with the options of play, uninstall and etc. I click play and then the larger screen comes up with the ww II tank and the helmet under it. Next that goes away and the screen goes black *next the EA challenge everything should come up* but it doesnt and my pc is now frozen.

Things I have tried...
Uninstalled/Reinstall 2 times
Remove all BF1942 downloaded files and redownload
Talk to about 20 people asking for other help
Tried to enter bf1942 from other options than hitting play

try removing the movies from the BF1942 folder?

Sounds like you have a bad map perhaps. I recommend you uninstall everything then do a manual purge of all remaining BF42 folders and files. Then try it all again. It is extreme but it will work.

Or just move out all your mods floders to another location(desktop, w/e) with the exception of the bf1942 one. Then if it works with just that 1 folder then move each mod folder in 1 by 1 and run it each time.

This way you can pinpoint which mod is screwing you

I tried moving the movies folder out, and that didn't work. I also tried removing all the mods and all their content that didn't work.

If you have already removed all downloaded files (or as Slaughter more wisely suggested just moved them to your desktop) then you have manually purged. Purged isnt an official term, I just meant get EVERYTHING - even the EA folder - out of your programs directory.

If you have done this already here are some more questions:

1. Does it run offline (single-player) plain 1942 with no mods installed?

2. Have you patched it, and if so with what verion #'s?

3. Did you use PBSetup.exe? (I hope not - this was wrecking my vanilla bf1942 though it didn't bother the mods... a strange symptom) I recommend not running anything besides the PB that came with the latest BF patch as that will let you run vanilla and mods.

4. Do any mods (if any left) work offline or online?

I should be on Xfire later this evening if we cant solve it sooner.

1. I can't get into the game so I don't know if singleplayer works.

2. I have the two patches.
BF1942 patch 1.6.19
BF1942 patch 1.6 to 1.61b
^Not the exact names, but you know what I mean

3. I don't even remember using PB setup.exe. The only time I ever did something with PB was when I installed it with the patches.

4. Same as #1, can't get into the game so I don't know if anything works.
