Hell yes they are excellent, one of the best around, and the best power/fantasy metal around. Sounds like that Mist coder is German, or he just knows his music.
Which album have you got?
Nightfall in Middle Earth is my favorite. Their early stuff is alot heavier and faster, but also good. They get mellower every album, but more melodic. _________________

Oh Rhapsody is good too, but there are a bunch of power metal bands, mostly European of course.
I listen to this online station alot, it is mostly power metal

I think you have to register, but it is free. Lots of good stuff there, even some hard to find female vocals metal. _________________

No problem, this is an underappreciated genre here in the states, it is mainly European. The station is kickass.
The only US band that is power metal is Iced Earth, thats all I can think of. They are a bit more heavy and have different style lyrics.
Ah if you get the chance check out Demons and Wizards, it is a side band of Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer, and the Blind Guardian singer Hansi Kursch. I myself havent listened to many bands of this genre other than BG, Iced Earth, a bit of Rhapsody, some Hammerfall(they are not my favorite compared to the rest though) not much else. But this is good stuff.
For those who don't know what power metal is, it is basically heavy metal like Iron Maiden mixed with classical music like choirs and orchestral arrangements. The lyrics are towards the fantasy side more than not. Nightfall in Middle Earth is an entire album dedicated to Tolkien's The Simarilion. I only listen to metal nowadays, but there is much variety in the metal genre.
As for my favorite BG songs, try "Nightfall", "Time Stands Still At the Iron Hill" and "The Curse of the Feanor" from Nightfall in Middle Earth and "Theatre of Pain", "Ashes to Ashes", and "The Bard's Song - In the Forest" from Somewhere Far Beyond Also from Iced Earth there is "Fiddler on the Green"
I suggest yall buy or download the whole Nightfall album, if you don't you get to miss alot of neat 20 second storytelling type things they are pretty good.
Always here to suggest more good music, and if you find some good power metal let me know. _________________

Actually Choc, that is Demons and Wizards on White Room. They get confused because Hansi sings for BG and them, but Jon Schaffer from Iced Earth does the rest. The guitar is the main difference. BG, Iced Earth and D&W are all in a little circle of goodness. BG and IE sound different, and D&W is like a mesh of the 2.
They cover the Immigrant Song on the 2nd D&W album by the way.
I have no clue what you said Shoes, but I bet it was something good. _________________

I liked Rhapsody, but their new stuff is bad, for me.
I don't like power metal that much, just because I hate most of the PM singers(they sing too high).
But heres some I like:
-Sonata Arctica(maybe the most well known power metal band from Finland)
-Stratovarius(from Finland)
-Dreamtale(Finland too)
-Symphony X
-Nocturnal Rites
Well this band isn't power metal, but I think many of you would like it.
Band called "Kiuas" is new hot stuff from Finland, with newest album "The Spirit Of Ukko". _________________
