Get her mobile phone number. It's a lot easier to flirt with SMS. Dunno if you do that yet in the US, but it works like a charm.

I think I've pin pointed the problem. I don't think the ability to lick one's own nose is even remotely attractive to either gender, of any tendancy. Try for another part of the face, say ear or eye socket if you can't reach the brow - just stay away from the booger factory.

Well, my attempt at getting this girl's phone number has hit a barricade. My middlewoman (a girl on my swim team) says that she isn't interested in a dating relationship, and thus didn't give her a number for me. I'm sending the message that a dating relationship isn't what I'm looking for. Just because she isn't interested doesn't mean she might not be eventually. I'm still waiting to see how that goes.
