It's official, i hate my damned computer sooo bad right now. It just randomly decided to STOP READING ALL CD's. Everytime i put a CD in, nothing happens, it used to autorun, now it's just not detecting them at all, i go to my computer and it's not even in the disk drive apparently, i tried cleaning the CD's and nothing worked. BF2 has been installed for awhile now, so i put in the disk, clicked on the icon about 5 minutes later and it still said "Please insert the disk BF2 DVD into E:." and "There is no disk in disk drive E:" i hate this computer, i'm getting ready to sell it and buy a new pimped out one. can someone please save me the money and help me figure out WTF IS WRONG? i can't play any of my games.

Very likely that your CDROM drive has died. They're very inexpensive and you could probably find an old computer that someone is / has discarded and salvage the CDROM drive from it. They're VERY easy to remove & install, all you need is a screwdriver.

BUT, you may have a dirty lens (this is not too likely though since NO CDS will read) but it may be worth a try. You can pick up CD cleaning kits at Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc. etc. - heck I've even seen em at grocery stores.

Open the comp and pull the plugs in and out of the drive once. There's no scientific proof that this really works, but I'm told it does :-/

I had a problem like this probably four years ago with my Dell. The solution was to just get a new drive.

Yea i'd say get a new cd drive, you can get a nocd patch off megagames.com until then, i've gone through about 2 cd drives in the last two years.

thanks guys, i'm lucky to be in a clan and know guys like you. A friend of mine that goes to school with me says he has a few extra CDROM drives, he'd let me have one. So hopefully that works. I'll update yall when i get the stuff in and working.

if ur consistently ounking cd roms, u might have a pwer supply issue....... if it spikes, it can take a drive quite easily.... if u get a new one & that one shits too, get a better power supply
