Post subject: 15 pin connector PCI card?
Top Reply with quote

Ok, here is my issue. I have a Gravis Blackhawk joy which uses a 15 pin connector (yes it is old, but very comfortable). Currently, I have it plugged into my sound card. I am looking at building a new computer and I was trying to find something neat and tidy like a PCI card that I could plug it into instead of having to transfering my old sound card.

Does something like this exist? I have looked and looked and have not found anything but more sound cards that I could plug it in to.

thx

Don't know man, might just have to shell out 15 bucks and get a new stick with a USB connection

You could shell out a bit for one of these http://www.usb-port.com/rm203.html

But I didn't bother checking the price, so if it's cheaper to get a new JS, get one. Or just re-use the sound card and don't use it for .. well... sound.

why would you want to buy a new card to replace a perfectly working old one that does more things?? if the sound card is pci, u already have what u want, a pci card with a 15 pin gameport.... if u want to use a diff sound card, just make sure windows has the one u want as default....

Ok, I think I am going to use the thing that Wang posted. The sound card is ok, it supports up to 5.1, but I really want to get the Audigy 2 ZS and some Creative speakers that won't only shake my house, but the neighbor's aswell.

STOP STOP EVERYTHING!

the audigy 2 zs retale version comes with a 15 pin add on thingy. you plug it into the sound card and just use a extra pci bay for the plug thingy. i am using it for the stick i got back in 1996 right now.

you can have your cake and eat it to Very Happy

Add-on thingy. Not "on the backplate of the card". It's probably one of those fifteen-gazilllion headers on the card...
