Some really interesting points on psychology, and the bias that we as humans share when it comes to the facts. I'll write a more detailed opinion when I have thought about it more.

EDIT:
My opinion on the subject:

For me personally the talk was more about the big reveal rather than the whole psychology is flawed. The idea that we will focus on facts we want is definitely true and it comes into play with everything. Even the speaker, demonstrated it twice in regards to Tony. At first when he refused to contact the man he thought was totally ordinary upon someone else telling him he was a psychopath, and the second time when he didn't go the pub despite 20 months of good living from Tony.

It made me think about how we focus on flaws, and over-exaggerate them or forget all the good things. Imagine if evidence was found out that MLK cheated on his wife, ALL of the great things that he did would be overshadowed by one flaw; and that is what people would focus on. Now admittedly, I would also be very scared to go to a pub with a guy who was in jail for a month because of a fight in a pub as I would be scared of a relapse in behavior. Even now, I am trying to rationalize it with repeated history, or drinking, just trying to find out one reason why I shouldn't do it. So I had the question, do we as a society do it because of human nature or is it human nature because of society? I don't know the answer to that, but I do know that if we stopped and included all of the facts more then our society would be different.
