Okay, so I'm done making the map like I want it and I've got it playable. All that's left before making it all pretty is doing the actual testing for it! So if you want to help test the map and help make it balanced for everyone please say so here so I can get a list of volunteers. (It's going to be a 3 stage attack/defend map but right now I'm developing stage by stage. This means that right now only the first stage is actually complete.)

What you'll be doing when you sign up: During a weekly testing session you'll come in, play on the map for a bit and then during or afterwards provide feedback on how the map itself. For example: "For the area around the first point it was very difficult for Pyros because..." (bad example, I know). Please specify class and load-out as it might be a case of that area was meant to be challenging. Providing actual written feedback in this thread would be best as that provides me with something to look back to as I make the changes.
Note: Just to see the map in different situations, I may switch between regular play and competitive highlander.

Some details on the first stage: There are 4 control points, but it plays out like Egypt. Blu team will capture the first point and then 3 different points become available. Blu only has to capture one of these three to win the round. While this may seem useless now it's for later on in the development of the map so it's best to balance around it now. I'm not going into any details on the rest of the layout as it'd probably be easier for people to see it.

Please note that in the early stages I'm going to be focusing more on the gameplay itself. If I have some free time I may use it to make the map appear better but until then you're going to have to deal with ramps for stairs and place holder textures.

So any volunteers?

List of testers:
Courier
Ineffable
Bary
Sleeples
Matt
That one guy I want to be more like
Pharaoh
Badman
Messy
Nugget

Yay Draco! Congratulations on your progress with the map.

I'm excited to see your work and would be happy to provide some spy feedback.

Where do I sign up? Is this post where I put "Yah, there's an area on the map where the demo's spam can't quite reach...etc" ?

Here and you making a new post in the thread every time you provide feedback would make things easier (as I can avoid fixing something during one change and then putting it back to what it was before later by mistake).

You may, all though to be honest. I didn't read anything in this thread apart from my post and your reply. I look forward to whatever it is I signed up for.

I'll give a hand. Can't promise I'll be around for all of the test sessions, but I can look at it individually for non-gameplay issues.

Phase one criticism:
Too much open space
Blue forward spawn needed
Some points feel too much: throw yourselves until you get it, not much room for maneuvering to point
the pit point is just there, nothing leading to it, its just there. Breaks flow of the map.

Messy Recipe:  deleted all the last couple years worth of bots & managed to preserve the two real people that have posted since then xD

so many DELETED spam posts now tho that I think I'll need to automate cleaning those moreso than i already have

Messy Recipe:  sry about the bots :( been busy & havent gotten round to doing the usual cleanup

need to prolly stick this behind cloudflare or something

Drunken Monkey:  doing well, been building a hobby ranch of my own, got married, no kids, only dogs, sheep and a horse

Comradekil:  so anyway, i wonder how everyone's lives all progressed.. who's in jail? who's grandparents now.. ha life
Drunken Monkey:  and yes....i do miss 1942 aswell, i honestly think it is what drove me to get a M1 garand in real live, and is still my most used rifle
Drunken Monkey:  bots are getting silly
Comradekil:  Sup dudes
Messy Recipe:  the BAR-1918 always felt so good in that game
Messy Recipe:  I miss vanilla 1942 as much as Pirates... need to see if the Origin version (or even original) still has anyone playing sometime
Stealth:  Hello all! Head to the lounge and post a memory!
Stealth:  I saw a BF1942 fraps video of a guy jumping out of a plane and RPG'd another plane. I immediately came here for nostalgia. Miss you all.
Messy Recipe:  I've not tried Sea of Thieves... kinda was bummed to learn its servers don't allow many simultaneous players. gimme 32v32 galleon fights
Messy Recipe:  oh gosh I really need to automate the spambot removal instead of making myself do it by hand don't I -.-
Drunken Monkey:  merry Christmas you lot
[BB]Piccolo:  Anybody playing Sea of Thieves?
[BB]Piccolo:  I'm amazed I actually still knew my login. We Black Buccaneers certainly had a special relationship with you Cut Throats. Nothing like a fierce rivalry to make the battlefield exciting, eh? :)
