I am looking to play some old gameboy games that I played as a child, if anyone has a link to A. An emulator for any and all gameboys, and B. Links to ALL of the pokemon games as roms, I'd be very thankful if you shared em with me.

I tried playing the Pokemon games again a year or two ago and they were a complete grindfest. Just walking around the forest battling Weedle after Weedle to level up. Sad

Don't have an emulator though; I picked up one of the backlit models of the GBA SP on Ebay a few years back...

Super Mario Land 2: Something of the 6 Golden Coins

I have so many great memories of this game. Play it and love it.

Also I think the second Kirby game and Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening were fantastic. I wish I could give you a game that isn't a Nintendo brand but I barely remember the original Game Boy except for the heavy hitters. These three are unique and still hold up today, whereas other games I used to play and have fun with (Pokemon, Donkey Kong, Bomberman) have better, practically identical versions released since then.

According to Nintendo Power, if you want to play the five most important and highest rated Game Boy games, your list should be as follows (this is a set of averages circa 1994).

1. Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3
2. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
3. Donkey Kong
4. Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
5. Metroid II: The Return of Samus

The Zelda title is proof that the Game Boy could pump out quality titles that could match even the SNES in terms of quality. It's gameplay is clever and enjoyable and the items introduced in that game (sometimes, exclusive to it) are some of the best in the entire series. Donkey Kong is the 1994 puzzle/adventure equivalent of Portal and it's truly brilliant and a must-play title. I got a friend addicted to that when it was new and he bought a Game Boy just to play it. Wario Land is such an old game that it's cut from the same cloth as the original Mario games up to 'World, which gives the play style of the game a nostalgic quality for reasons you can't quite put your finger on. Super Mario Land 2 is so stupid easy that, due to the lack of challenge, you won't find yourself enjoying it on the same level as when you were 11, but worth a go if you have access. Metroid II is easily the worst game in that series, so don't go buy a copy just to play it unless you get a bargain. I've been more and more harsh on that sophomore slump as the years go on.

This constitutes my two cents.

Just lookin for these on the computer. I'm also on a track down a 64 emulator just for the kirby game that was on it. Played it for years with my cousin. Used to know every. Single. Thing. About that game.

Did you ever play Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Zelda: Oracle of Seasons on GBC? I had a great time with those and I feel like they flew under the radar for a lot of people. Loved all the Wario and Kirby games too.

I never played OoS, but OoA was great. Also I feel the need to add in Pokemon, since no one else has mentioned it in this thread. (Shame on you all)

Messy Recipe:  sry about the bots :( been busy & havent gotten round to doing the usual cleanup

need to prolly stick this behind cloudflare or something

Drunken Monkey:  doing well, been building a hobby ranch of my own, got married, no kids, only dogs, sheep and a horse

Comradekil:  so anyway, i wonder how everyone's lives all progressed.. who's in jail? who's grandparents now.. ha life
Drunken Monkey:  and yes....i do miss 1942 aswell, i honestly think it is what drove me to get a M1 garand in real live, and is still my most used rifle
Drunken Monkey:  bots are getting silly
Comradekil:  Sup dudes
Messy Recipe:  the BAR-1918 always felt so good in that game
Messy Recipe:  I miss vanilla 1942 as much as Pirates... need to see if the Origin version (or even original) still has anyone playing sometime
Stealth:  Hello all! Head to the lounge and post a memory!
Stealth:  I saw a BF1942 fraps video of a guy jumping out of a plane and RPG'd another plane. I immediately came here for nostalgia. Miss you all.
Messy Recipe:  I've not tried Sea of Thieves... kinda was bummed to learn its servers don't allow many simultaneous players. gimme 32v32 galleon fights
Messy Recipe:  oh gosh I really need to automate the spambot removal instead of making myself do it by hand don't I -.-
Drunken Monkey:  merry Christmas you lot
[BB]Piccolo:  Anybody playing Sea of Thieves?
[BB]Piccolo:  I'm amazed I actually still knew my login. We Black Buccaneers certainly had a special relationship with you Cut Throats. Nothing like a fierce rivalry to make the battlefield exciting, eh? :)
