With the recent jump CT has taken into UGC and the world of competitive Team Fortress 2, a few of us have decided to write up an all purpose guide on how anyone can play at the next level.

If you plan on playing with your fellow clan members, then you will need mumble which can be downloaded here: http://mumble.sourceforge.net/

Mumble is an out of game voice-chat program that has clearer quality than the in-game voice chat, and it is simply a cool place to hang out. The info for our channel personal mumble is:

Quote:

removed ask anyone on for the info..

To join a mumble channel simply:
Quote:
launch mumble
click on add new
Put in the info above and connect.

Once in you will be asked to set up a microphone. You are now ready to talk with your fellow members.

During off-season and in-between matches many CTs will play lobbies. A lobby will do its best to give you the feel of a competitive game with nothing at risk. In order to play a lobby one must simply:
Quote:
go to the website: http://tf2lobby.com/
Log in to your steam account
join whatever lobby you want
select a class and hit ready.
When the lobby has enough players the lobby host will hit ready and everyone will be launched into game.

So how does lobby differ from regular TF2?
Well the most apparent thing is the format. Most servers run a 12v12 or higher server, with no class restrictions. Lobby on the other hand comes in 2 flavors: 9v9 and 6v6.

9v9 or Highlander is a mode where each team is restricted to one of each class, so there is more of an emphasis on skill level rather than class stacking. Also certain classes fill rolls that are very hard to replace, a demoman for example will usually run the vanilla loadout (pipes, stickies, bottle), as opposed to a demo-knight or stick jumper-caper loadout. Most if not all CTs will play this format, and it is usually fairly easily to get into a game with some of them.

6v6 is a format where the regular team composition is:
Quote:
1 Medic, 1 Demoman, 2 Scouts, and 2 Soldiers.

Other classes are known to make an appearance all though very rarely.

Both game types have different strategies and offer a different style of play from regular TF2. If you wish to play a lobby, or simply learn more about them. Do not hesitate to ask one of these members:

The following people can also set up a lobby with you:

Already stated before that I would, so put me down on that list.

[BB]Piccolo:  I'm amazed I actually still knew my login. We Black Buccaneers certainly had a special relationship with you Cut Throats. Nothing like a fierce rivalry to make the battlefield exciting, eh? :)
