As you all know I've been having connection issues for quite a while. My signal keeps going from "Local & Internet" to just "Local" and requires either being disconnected and reconnected or roughly 2 minutes to go back to normal. Is this to do with the wi-fi adapter or something else entirely (I am the only one in my house with this issue)?

well, if you're the only one with the problem then it has to be a piece of hardware in your computer thats not working. I'm pretty sure its the wifi adapter, and btw is it a desktop computer? If it is try connecting it to the internet by ethernet cable and see if that loses your connection as well. If it does then your network card is malfunctioning.

How far from the access point are you? How many walls are in between your adapter and the access point?

You can determine whether it's your location or your system by trying anothe system that doesn't have the problem in the same location.

If it is indeed your system, first go search for the CMD commands that will wipe out all prior settings on the wifi card, and re-add the network and such to start fresh. Also try things like giving yourself a static local IP (as wifi networks tend to reassign local IPs).

If you can't fix it with anything settings- or software-related, you'll probably want a new wifi card.
