is there a way to mod the expansions as well i mean some of the later swoww2 weapons are cool and we could come up with some other uses

If you mean adding extra weapons or vehicles to bfp, that's not a problem. (Unless you're talking about server-side stuff, which it doesn't sound like you are)

Just look at the multitude of awesome shit in FH Razz

The expansions do have something to protect them from being run without the CD, but they look like they're normal mods otherwise (they're basically like all the free mods out there, but with less stuff in them).

Not sure if they did anything special to the engine for the SW jetpack or RtR bayonet, but we already know throwing knives are possible, and both Desert Combat and Galactic Conquest have a vehicles like the guided missile from Secret Weapons. And the DC missiles have fuel limits like the rail-launched rocket plane.

I think it should all be possible to simply port over if we wish, because IIRC the changes to the game engine were done through a game patch -- you'll notice that installing the expansions on unpatched BF1942 makes you update it.

The jetpack is possible in vanilla 1942 aswell, cant remember, but some mod had it.. i think it was some RALLY mod or something Razz
the rest is just done using the 1942 engine

MOD.DLL is the file that keeps you from playing without your CD.
thank god for no-cd fixes xD

Yeah if it's possible in the expansions, it's possible in vanilla. I was very suprised to actually find code for a bayonet in my vanilla bf42.

lol ya i was speaking of weapons mostly like the nade launcher could we make like a hand cannon or something out of that

hahaha. I was thinking exactly that thought as I typed it.

Come to think of it...

Many mods use the bayonet animation from road to rome. Could there be legal issues in offering that content to people in a vanilla-only mod? Interesting...

Well, you pay for the animation when you pay for vanilla, if it's already in the game. Paying for the expansions kinda seems like paying for Stunts mod or though. They don't even change or add as much as Pirates 0.10 did.

I'm not sure if the bayonet animation is in vanilla though. It isn't obviously present.

I always presumed those mods copied from rtr and packaged it with the mod.

Hm well one way to find out -- change the firing animation on the K98 in vanilla to whatever the bayonet firing animation is in RtR. If it works, then the animations are already there. If it doesn't, then the other mods would've had to somehow extract it from RtR.

I'm not too keen on hand cannons personally (though it could make an interesting pickup, just not something everyone can have)....but they're certainly possible even just by changing the projectile on guns. Blunderbuss + turtleBomb projectile = a quick death for anything thats not even close to where it hits. Twisted Evil
