5 Second review:

Pros:
Mila Kunis
Cinematography
Flying Baboons

Cons:
Predictable Plot
Boring
Protagonist is not too likable
No one sells their performance
Some 'Jar-Jar-binks' character
Mila Kunis gets green makeup 1/2 way thru
Climax is not so climax-ey, yawn

Saw it this last friday.

I'd give it a 7/10. Enjoyed it, but I'm not gonna pay for it again.

Saw it in 3D, would not recommend it. I personally hate 3D and the film didn't need it. The only real use of it was a few gimmick shots that were definitely not needed.

MILD SPOILERS HERE:

I found it to be a decent movie, but I just couldn't get drawn in to it. I'm usually INSTANTLY immersed into a movie/game/whatever, but I just could not get past Franco. I just could not see him as anything but an actor.

Zach Braff was probably the best part of the movie for me, a lot of his lines seemed ad-libbed and made me cackle like a mad-man.

The plot was extremely predictable, but I think that comes from knowing the universe this was set in. It's a prequel and that makes it pretty easy to figure out what's gonna happen.

SERIOUS SPOILERS HERE:

Mila Kunis was a pretty shit pick for the wicked witch, her voice is nothing like that of the original and it just throws off the character entirely. The only bit that sounded remotely like the "Evil Witch" was her laugh and I have no doubts it was heavily edited.

The "Twist" wasn't a twist and the only way for it to have been broadcasted more heavily would be if a Gigantic Neon Sign showed up to say "THIS IS THE REAL BAD GUY, DUMBASS"

It was an eye pleaser, but not really noteworthy. But yes, everything was predictable. I sat there and said the next thing that would happen while my gf hit me each time I was right.

I know it's a prequel, but most of the time I kept trying to figure out which witch dies in the first movie by the house that falls on her, in which dorothy gets her ruby slippers.
